PIM - Personal information manager. Usually contains calendar, contact list, task list, and notes, at a minimum. Often can be synchronized with handheld devices or local PIMs, such as MS Outlook.

Product - Provides a product.

Reference - Contains information such as building codes or links 
to reference data.

Service - Provides service(s) to business. May supply their software as an ASP (application service provider) over the Web.

Utility - Performs some computer-related function, such as conversion of files from one format to another.

Wiki - A Web site with pages that can be edited by anyone viewing them. (Hawaiian for "quick")
