1. TRIRIGA BUYS PEREGRINE FACILITYCENTER

The skinny: Up-and-coming Tririga buys popular and mature facility management system from troubled Peregrine Systems.

More detail: When a company is public, and is going through difficulties, a lot of it is out in the open. Go to the Peregrine Web site, and you will see all the signs of the results of poor management--reorganizations, NASDAQ "failure to file" warnings, board member resignations, de-listing, the works.

But that is not necessarily a reflection on its products. As recently as last May, Peregrine signed a major deal with IBM for joint marketing of IRM (infrastructure resource management) solutions to the public sector, financial services sector, and telecom industry.

On August 5, Peregrine sold its FacilityCenter product line to Tririga.

"It's a chasm-crossing acquisition for us," said Anthony Marnell III, Tririga's CEO. "We are now able to offer the first end-to-end integrated solution to the owner market."

Besides increasing Tririga's staff size by almost 50%, the acquisition brought with it 400 clients and 8000 seats. "In addition to the outstanding product line--whose integration with our IBS (Intelligent Business System) is beating our projected September 15 demonstration date--we've brought in programmers, support people, and sales professionals."

Roger Rittenhouse has come to Tririga from Peregrine to serve as general manager and vice president of TRIRIGA Real Estate & Facility Operations, the new facility management subsidiary of TRIRIGA INC.

EXTRANET NEWS last reviewed Tririga in our March 25, 2002 issue.

Our take: Good move for Tririga.
